Penn State student Arianna Eichhof spent much of the past year immersing herself in journalism. A part of that was joining Documenters, a national program that trains residents of communities to attend public meetings and publish the results. Eichhof was part of the first cohort of Centre Documenters, which covers the State College, Pennsylvania, area and is run by the News Lab housed in the Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications.
The Penn State Alumni Association (PSAA) has announced a $20,000 matching commitment that will grow the scholarship endowment recently established in honor of 2024 Renaissance Fund honorees Roger Williams, retired PSAA executive director, and his wife, Karen Magnuson, retired assistant director of University marketing. In recognition of the Renaissance Fund’s 55th anniversary, the PSAA will match gifts of $550 or more to any named Renaissance Fund with an equal contribution to the Roger L. Williams and Karen L. Magnuson Renaissance Fund.

Working remotely and from in-person sites at the Harrisburg and University Park campuses, teams spent three focused days in June attending workshops and webinars, collaborating with coaches and each other, as they worked on their projects related to student success and providing opportunities for students in the higher education space.
The Chaikens have once again made a landmark contribution to the University. While the amount of the gift is not being disclosed publicly, it will make them the second-largest donors in Penn State history. The gift extends their impact beyond the College of the Liberal Arts and builds upon and extends existing academic support services.

Online and offline gambling has continued increasing rapidly in Pennsylvania since its legalization in 2017, according to the latest Pennsylvania Interactive Gaming Assessment: Online Gambling Report 2023. The report was developed by Penn State’s Criminal Justice Research Center under contract with the Pennsylvania Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs.
